SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Spring is always an exciting time for me, and I think the warmer weather that we've been getting in Kamloops has made me more cheerful as of late. Now it's time to break out the tennis raquet and golf clubs and start doing the things I really enjoy in my spare time. No more being lazy, it's time for me to start getting exercise.

On top of the weather getting nicer and Spring nearing, I've been thinking more and more about the summer. As each day is passing, I'm thinking a little more about the future than present because I really don't know what I'll be doing when the summer comes. I'd like to hang around Kamloops until graduation in June to enjoy the warm weather and just go crazy for a couple months, but I just don't know if it's economically possible. I'd have to either find a new job or get an increase in hours at Athletes World. At minimum wage, I'd probably need to work at least 25 hours a week to make enough money to cover all my costs and I'm not sure I can increase it by that much. As it is right now I'm only getting 20 hours on a good week.

Some possiblities at this point include:

- trying to transfer to the Athletes World in PG so I can live rent free and still make enough to afford other costs (car insurance, gas and cell phone bill).
- getting a job in journalism. This seems the logical choice for anybody with a Journalism degree. However, in my case it's different. I've got background in other fields to work with, and if I'm planning to only work long enough to save up money to travel, then journalism wouldn't do it. Plus journalism would most likely mean I leave Kamloops because I don't want to work in the Media field unless its in the sporting industry. I will be leaving Kamloops, that's for sure, but I'm holding off if I'd be a job I don't enjoy.
- stay in Kamloops and work at Athletes World. If I can get the hours, I would do it until after grad, then make a decision about my future at that point.

If worse comes to worse, I may have to go to PG as start my May unemployed. I'm going to just try and enjoy the present for now. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
